Pittsburgh’s Building Benchmark Ordinance requires nonresidential buildings over 50,000 square feet in size to report their power and water usage annually. This is to both increase transparency to allow businesses and individuals to make informed choices regarding business specifications; while also providing a method to track building efficiency and maintenance needs.
