The Catch basin on my street is clogged. Can this cause basement flooding?

Storm drains do not cause water back up. Two possible causes you may want to investigate are:
1) Make sure your lateral is not clogged. The lateral, from their residence to the main sewer line, is the homeowners' responsibility and can be checked by a plumber.
2) Make sure the main sewer line is not clogged. That could cause a surcharge into your lateral. Call PWSA to report this, 412-255-2423, and to schedule the public line to be televised.
