What actions are taken for setting trash out early?
A foreperson from Environmental Services (ES) will investigate the same day and will attempt to advise the resident(s) in person. A warning letter will be issued if the resident(s) isn't notified in person. ES does not have the capability to monitor the site for repeat offenses so please report all subsequent violations to 311 for further investigation. ES will issue a citation if the same residence continues to violate the city code.
The city ordinance states that trash should be placed at the curb no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before and no later than 6 a.m. the day of collection. Trash cans should be removed from the curb by 10 p.m. the day of collection.
