Are there limitations on recycling?
- Shredded paper is no longer accepted curbside. It can be dropped off at any of the drop-off centers (excluding the Beltzhoover/Knoxville location) but it must be contained in a clear or blue plastic bag.
- Pizza boxes with grease spots cannot be recycled but any clean portion of the box can be separated and recycled.
- Hard-to-recycle items such as computers and TV's are recyclable by drop-off appt in the Strip District on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly with Pennsylvania Resources Council.
Household hazardous waste is collected bi-monthly in the Strip District - 2023 dates are:
3/11, 5/13, 7/8, 9/9, 11/11
Fees do apply - $.35/lb for most items
